Charles Lee Emerson, Minister

On September 5, 2006 Jesus called us to take “Exclusive Rights” to go to the people and investigate and write books to document Signs, Wonders, and Miracles that He is doing right now.  The Book of Acts was just a start of what God is doing.  Today He is very busy, but we have not seen anything yet!  Daily… Signs, Wonders and Miracles are taking place at a phenomenal pace and God said they would continue to increase in intensity until Jesus comes!

Because of this, we started The Village Carpenter Publishing House.  Since we went full time starting in July 2007, we have published seventy-two books.

Today… I thought I had lost one of my best friends.  That is what my response was when asked: “How are you today?”  Let me explain.

A friend and companion in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ called me early today.  We had been working on a book project since September 2006.  This writing was first started in June 2007.

My friend is the author, I am the publisher.  I had published his first book which I had in hand to show to him as a proofread copy.  I had his second book published, which I should get this week.  I had published this second book shortly after the first book and expect delivery this Friday.

We had already discussed the price of each element that goes into the cost of the books.  We had already discussed the fact that the variable of the cost of the book would be the number of pages.  That could closely be determined after I format and layout the pages.  It was clear he would control the text and continuity of the book, not me, he is the author, it is his book.

Today he asked me the question:  “How much would it cost to do one hundred fifty six books?”  I started to explain that if the relative content or text remained the same… The price would also remain the same.  As best as I could tell up front… Just to be discussing it.

The more we discussed it, the more I began to realize I was not being clear enough for his understanding.  Then we lost our signal; we were talking on cell phones while I was traveling through the hills and forests of southeastern Ohio.

I called him back on both his cell and home phones, only to get his voice mail message each time.  I thought for a moment… Maybe we did not lose the signal!  Maybe he hung up!

And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death… And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again… Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.   Leviticus 24:17,19 & 22

Later he called me back and said something about me not giving him a direct answer to his direct question and he sensed that I was getting angry and upset, so therefore he could not talk to me now and he hung up again… Before I could say a word!

I prayed, “Lord, what’s this all about?  I gave him the most direct answer I could, but he kept coming back with questions that I had already answered, some way back before we did his first book.”

As I continued traveling along the hills and forest, I thought back about every question he asked and how I could have answered it more directly.  I prayed again and asked my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to forgive me for what ever I said or how I said it that would set him off as it did!

Then my friend… Called me back and said he had an over whelming sense that he could not trust me!  All three times, before I could answer him, he hung upon me.

I prayed again: “Lord, what did I say?  What did I do to give him the “Overwhelming” sense that he could not trust me?”

Then my Lord spoke gently to my spirit and said: “You told him the truth about the prices… They can be documented.  You kept him informed all along the way of each step in the process of his books.  This too is document able.”

I pondered what He said!  Then, The Lord said: “My Son, you have been faithful to me many years… Continue to keep your word, continue to walk in my statutes, continue to fulfill your commitment to me!  And I will be pleased!”

God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.  I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.  He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.  My face is foul with weeping, and my eyelids is the shadow of death.  Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.  Job 16:11,12,14,16,17

After much prayer and consideration of my next step, the Lord told me: “Do not talk to him for seven days.”  I did just that.

During those seven days of working on other books for other authors as well as our own books we were ministered to by the Lord of the things going on in churches today.

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin.  Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever.  That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord.  Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits.  Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.  Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon.  Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.  And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.   Isaiah 30:1,8-14

The power of our word is misunderstood.  God has given us more power than we have even considered.  Our words are like the words of God when He spoke and all the world was created.  When we speak to a stranger, our words can help them or they can condemn them with one blow.  Our words that we speak to a brother or a sister is so much more powerful than that of a stranger.  For we put our trust in our friends.  We accept them as brother or sister in the Lord.  We do not expect to be ripped apart like a dirty old rag that is cast aside upon the dung heap.

One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.  Isaiah 30:17

Our Lord waits for us.  He is patient.  He is gracious and merciful.  We need to wait for Him!

And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Isaiah 30:18

God will speak to us.  He will tell us which way to go.  He will tell us what to do.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.  Isaiah 30:21

When God moves upon our life, we know it.  We cannot miss it.  He can heal us with one blow.  He can heal the wounds of a friend, a brother or sister.

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.  Isaiah 30:26

We will have a song in our heart.  We will be lifted up as in the presence of God.  For we are in His presence at all times!  His voice we will not miss.

Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.  And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.  Isaiah 30:29 & 30

The seventh day came, my friends’ book came and I was prepared to deliver it to him.  I called, he answered his phone and we agreed to meet at a public park close to his home.  We sat there and talked for about two and a half hours.  We talked about the book project.  We talked about what had happened seven days before and what the Lord had ministered to each of us.  We talked about his other book projects and where we stand as working together on them.  He had decided to do his own books and as of today, some twelve months later, he has not published one book.  We published three books in three months for him.  This is not to say that he is not publishing books, only God knows what He is doing in the life of my friend.  He continues to send other authors to us.  We praise God for this.  However, we can tell that this incident has changed our relationship toward each other.

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.  Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.  If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.  And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.  If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.  Isaiah 58:8-14

We are told in The Holy Scripture, when we have a fault with our brother:… Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.  Matthew 18:15

Let us consider a bigger picture.  The disciples came to Jesus and said:… Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?  And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them.  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.  Matthew 18:1-6

We are considered children before Jesus.  Considering the last six statements of Jesus, it is very important that we do not offend one of our brothers or sisters in the Lord.

Jesus goes on to say: Woe unto the world because of offences!  For it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.  Matthew 18:7 & 10

Before our difference of option, my friend and I came through a three-way confrontation not too long ago.  We are all ministers of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  My two friends had a falling out over doctrinal differences.  The one friend left the church, literally shaking off the dust of his feet.  Jesus was quoted by Matthew, Mark and Luke about this very issue.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.  Matthew 10:14

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.  Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.   Mark 6:11

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

Luke 9:5

After my friend left the church, there was still much dissension about things he supposedly said.  When I was in close earshot of a discussion about these false statements, I brought out copies of the very things they were mis-quoting my friend as saying.  To my surprise, one woman recoiled like a snake and would have nothing to do with the proof I had brought out.  I told her I would keep praying for her.

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Matthew 18:11

That same evening I asked my other friend why he would not go after our brother, if he feels he is not saved or lost in another gospel or what ever it is that brought on such a shocking result.  He tried to say that the man is not one of his flock, therefore he is not obligated to go after him.  I told my second friend that my Bible teaches just the opposite.

How think ye?  If a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?  And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.  Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Matthew 18:12-14

Then we discussed the fact that if my first friend was not of my second friends flock, then we as brothers in the Lord should still be concerned about a lost or mis-lead brother.

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?  Till seven times?

Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Matthew 18:1-35

Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.  2 Kings 12:5

As you can tell by the last verse… We are priests in the Kingdom of God.  We are to take the truth to every man our acquaintance.  We are to repair the breach of covenant in the house of the Lord, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

In my travels and in my personal experiences of the last sixty years, I have found that churches are playing church.  Churches are practicing religiosity.  Their shepherds are leading their flock away.  I have already written about these issues in other books.  Here and now I would like to say that I have personally experienced the practice of what we call the

Matthew 18 principle.

You see; several years ago, I had fallen into sin or backslid as The Holy Bible calls it.  My friend and pastor of twenty-five years called me and told me he and my other brothers wanted to conference call with me.  I told him we could set a time and do that.  My friend and pastor told me they; two other deacons of our church, were on two of the church extensions and we all could conference now.  I agreed to that.

They; nor I believe, had no idea what our Lord had in store for us all.  To make a story short, I was excommunicated from our church by unanimous vote of the congregation.  You see my friend and pastor had tried to talk to me many times about the sin I was involved in.  This conference call was his attempt to follow the Matthew 18 principal.  Because I still was reluctant to respond to their pleadings with me to repent and comeback to fellowship with them, they went to the congregation and had a unanimous vote to excommunicate me from the fellowship of the Saints.  I found out later that I was only the second person of that congregation over the past sixty some years to be excommunicated.

This has been over ten years ago now.  Many times the Lord has prompted my spirit… Why do my people not hear my words?

And he said unto them, Why do ye such things?  For I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.  1 Samuel 2:23

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  Psalm 2:1

Have we not all one father?  Hath not one God created us?  Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?  Malachi 2:10

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?  Matthew 15:3

And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled?  And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?  Luke 24:38

Why do ye not understand my speech?  Even because ye cannot hear my word.  John 8:43

Which of you convinceth me of sin?  And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?  John 8:46

And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?  Acts 7:26

And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things?  We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:  Acts 14:15

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another.  Why do ye not rather take wrong?  Why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?  1 Corinthians 6:7

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  John 8:44

Dear reader, I will tell you now, if you are not in right standing with God, and are still living in your sins, don’t put it off any longer; get right with God now.  He knows all about you anyhow, and the price for your redemption from your sins has already been paid.

If we (you and I) confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, (all of them) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

You are not reading this by accident… Somebody is concerned about your soul.  Just accept by faith the shed blood of Jesus Christ for payment of your sins.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  Isaiah 53:5-6

Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  1 Peter 2:24

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.   1 Peter 1:18-19

You have nothing to lose but your old sinful life, pride, hate, guilt, fear, unbelief, loneliness and all other sins… Pray to Jesus……. Ask Him to save your soul.

The words of this song

will tell you how to come to Him:

Just as I am, and waiting not,

To cleanse my soul of one dark blot;

To thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am thou wilt receive,

Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,

Because thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, without one plea,

But that thy blood was shed for me,

And that thou bids’t me come to thee,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor wretched blind,

Sight riches healing of the mind,

Yea, all I need in thee to find,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Charlotte Elliott (1789-1871)

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  2 Corinthians 7:1

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  Isaiah 55:7

There is a hindrance in this life.  It’s called evil.  We are all affected by evil spirits.  If you in your deep heart want to respond… But there is still a hindrance, try praying this prayer:  Lord Jesus, I ask you to help me come to you.  I ask you to rebuke the evil spirits that are hindering me right now.  I ask you to bind them up with the three cords of your shed Blood that can not be broken.  I ask you to cast them into the fire of the pit forever, never to return.  Now Lord Jesus, come into my heart and save me.  Thank You Lord Jesus.  I now receive you as my Lord and Savior.  I ask you to authorize your Holy Spirit to fill me with His Power and Love.   AMEN!

If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, write and allow us to share your Joy!
